AfterLife - An Anti-Valentines Day Presentation

Not that I hate valentine/heart's day or am I anything related to the pain expressed in this poem I wrote. This is simply a challenge given to writers at Symbianize for the month of February.

So here's the instructions given.

Write a poem about deadly love, killers, stalkers, femme fatale, cariño brutal, or anything that attacks/hates what the valentines day stands for: love. Hindi pwede ang mga pakilig-kilig dito. Pwede yung magpapa chill to the bones dahil sa fear or hate. Yung mga nasawi sa pag-ibig, both literally and figuratively eh gawan nyu ng tula yan.

Dreadful lies, silence screaming
Eyes dried, darknes dripping
Wrecked, broken but breathing
You are the fool to keep me waiting

The light and hope you have given
Definitely a mouthful so please do listen
Your sweet words reckoned and beaten
By the frames you cherished keepin'

Changes you never bother reading
Glance from the competence of life and living
Together we'll live an eternity
From this place we'll seek prosperity

Soulmates indeed we are
For I shall never live again without you
Our souls forever held from afar
Burning hotter than living stars

Thanks for the lies you've given
Now I'm with you and forever burnin'
From this darkness we can sin forever
Resounding the life I take from you and the living
