If you’re not familiar with the term DTS, it
means Dual Training System which put Filipino trainees to a school-industry
environment and setup. As we all know, TESDA envisions itself as the leading
partner in the development of the Filipino workforce and I myself am witnessing
the effects they’ve brought to the community.
With the School-Industry Partnership,
Filipinos were indeed globally competitive enough to bring glory not only for them
but for the Filipino race as well. Being globally competitive is a dream that
every nation desires and as an innovating country, this means a lot more than
just work for our countrymen but this could also serve as bragging rights
making a nation powerful enough to stand without the aid of other countries.
The School-Industry partnership helps on
giving the trainees the experience and knowledge that they should learn before
indulging on the trials and wickedness of the cold-hearted industries which
doesn’t let their people grow in the process. Yes, industries need
professionals who studied for many years and the fact couldn’t even deny that
not everyone could gain access to that level and that’s where TESDA barges in.
They have the power to lead the people to an outstanding level arming the
people the wisdom and confidence to be competitive without minding the
hindrances that might come their way. From basic information to the most
important ones, from reliable equipments to reliable industry partnership,
they guide and teach the needy to success.
DTS is not really new to the country.
According to history, the German Model was first introduced in the Philippines during the 1980s. It has two training venues which clearly portrays the term “Dual
Training System” and those are the school and the company/workshop. From there,
the trainees will learn theories, work values and much more while letting them
handle state of the art technologies that will provide them with great experience
making them not only qualified but highly competitive as well when they
graduate from the program.
As industries continue to grow and innovate,
TESDA provides Filipinos with training programs that could help them throughout
their lives. I’m not a product of the program but I sure do wish that I was. I’ve
seen my friends finish their desired programs and to tell you
honestly, wearing “I am a graduate from TESDA” helps them more than they’ve
hoped for.
